Great! What's the URL? I'm going shopping!
I gotta say, backups are the key to sane Minivending. I have
crashed my store many times by screwing up my products.asc. I always
revert to the good old products.asc~ backup (automatically created by my
editor) and then try again. It usually starts working fine. I don't want
to rub it in for ya, I've been there, but you must be careful with "I
haven't changed anything, that I am aware of that could modify the database."
As far as a fix is concerned, I have not had that particular
problem before. However, here are my suggestions: 1) Make sure that the
columns in your products.asc line up with the names at the top of the
page. Perhaps price is your 5th column in the body of the db, but maybe
you accidentally removed a field name (is that the correct name for that?)
from the top, etc.. Also, make sure your products.asc doesn't contain any
bad DOS-type characters, like (^M) or such. I have a handy command on my
Linux box called 'dos2unix' for such instances. 2) Maybe you've mistakenly
applied some type of discount (a good one) to your shop/session. Check all
the discounting tags. 3) You fixed the problem and either Minivend or
your browser is caching the bad pages. Look in PageCache.
Hope that helps.
P.S. (offtopic) Anyone want to install Oracle8i on Linux for me?
