I am not sure! I get an email from my watchdog script about the
restarting of the minivend server.
At the first time, a bad robots has visit my shop and i lost minivend
server from my task list (so i think). But after adding a robots.txt, i
get no "BAD ROBOTS" message from minivend and last and this week,
minivend was restarted every two day. No "Bad Robots" or no wrong codes
in any catalogs was founded in the error.log.
This happen with vlink! With tlink, i do not get any email from my
watchdog about any restarting of minivend. But i prefer to use the
vlink. I was talking about this problem with another people, who use
FreeBSD and minivend too.
They have given me compiled vlink and i have taken this vlink into my
shop and get the "...server unavailable.." message immediately. I
noticed, the file size of compiled vlink is not the same like my own
vlink.
I check the source codes with "diff vlink.c (my own vlink) vlink.c
(vlink from other people)" and both is the same.
The file size of the compiled vlink (coming from other people) is for
example 20904 Bytes.
If i compile the source codes of the vlink.c (comming from the other
people), the files size is for example 210123 Bytes and my own old vlink
is for example 20888 Bytes.
It seems me, the results is difference from one FreeBSD system to all
other FreeBSD system. What i mean is, if you use the "cvsup" or "make
update", you get another FreeBSD system.
Maybe compiling the vlink.c once more after each cvsupdate can solve
your problem. I use FreeBSD 3.3-Stable, Apache 1.3.9 and MV 3.14-3.

Joachim
