Server unavailable / no error / no logs

Hi list,

i try to find out the cause, why is my minivend server unavailable?
First of all:
I have check all permission!
I use the vlink!
If the file etc/socket is missing, i get the message "...server
unavailable..".
If the setting of minivend.cfg and/or catalog.cfg is wrong to cause
failure with reconfig/restart via web or a bad robots has visited my
shop, i get this message too.

But, there are no logs about "BAD ROBOTS" and no logs about reconfig or
restart the shops. I have a script to watch the minivend server and in
this script, i have adding some commands like "ls ... etc/socket >>
output.txt" and "top -d1 >> output.txt" and i get the file "output.txt"
via email. I see the socket file, but no task like

279 minivendserver            2   0 12900K  1980K select   0:00  0.00%  0.00% perl

I am confused! If minivend is restarted, all shops work very well!

What is the cause? Any hints and helps are very welcome!
