Dear All,

Minivend 4 is coming along nicely; thanks to all who have made bug
reports. Most of those have been addressed.

MiniMate has lots of new bells and whistles. In particular, log in as
"minivend" or whatever you have defined the superuser to be and notice
the links "Manage MiniMate Users" and the _meta_ links under the field
labels in the databases. I believe that once the kinks are worked out
of it, MiniMate will be the strongest database-independent web interface
available anywhere.

For those having trouble installing on non-Linux systems, try using:

	perl Makefile.PL  PREFIX=/dir/to/install/mvend

Test 6 might well fail on Solaris and IRIX, but it shouldn't
be a worry.

I will produce a "hints" directory later if you give me appropriate
input on what works for different OSes.

As someone else noted, the simple demo does install with MySQL out of
the box. It even will now give you a chance to install the database at
makecat time.

Please continue sending any and all input, bearing in mind that the demo
hasn't been looked at heavily yet. I hope to go to beta by early Jan;
that is when I expect to have it installed and operational on its first
high-traffic production site.
