pagetarget and mv_value

I want to use pagetarget in combination with mv_value.
I am using the following code:

[pagetarget scan content
     sp=results
     va=variable=1
     st=sql
     fi=kleintjes
     sf=klcat_id
     se=1
     rf=code
     ml=4]
 the value 1
[/pagetarget]

When I look at the generated HTML code, the second '=' in the line 
'va=variable=1' is escaped (becomes %3d instead of '=' ).
Is there a way to prevent this or is there a way to tell the code not to escape 
the '=' character?
