Shopping Basket is where it begins

Hello -

I'm running a 2.5 year old version of Mvend. All has been well until a
couple months ago. 

AOL and the browser they issue is the problem (sorry about this one).
When at the basket, updates and or check out drops the cart. 

The most notable thing I have found during testing is if I change the
form action=string on the basket page to a string that was generated in
Netscape (cut and paste into basket.html then reload in AOL), the cart
that was generated in a Netsacpe browser will stay intact when
processing from AOL. 

Any ideas where I could be looking will be much appreciated.
