If you are going to be running tlink/vlink as the user then you need to
use tlink. vlink works via Unix domain sockets and the socket is mode
0600 owned by minivend.

The catalog directory for each user needs to be writable by minivend,
make the catalog directory and everything under it group minivend with
group write permission on.

Putting the catalog directory under the users home is a real good
idea.
