Thanks for all the replies, I really should have given more info,

I tried upgrading to minivend 3.14-3 and perl 5.005_03 to see if that helped.
I am running RH6.0, using the standard gdbm database, apache SSL 1.3.9
I have about 20,000 products which are updated about 3 times a day and last week
i had 241174 requests.
I am using many functions from the userdb and have added an extra 15 fields for
other features. The products file has about 30 fields also.

No, i have updated as many packages as seems relevant but not done any fine tuning
(i dont know whrere to start)

Had this problem once, I found that when i installed with all of the memory
installed, it found it fine.

I may try this by mounting etc on nfs.

Good Point.

I think i will go the MySQL route on a seperate system and see if that helps. Then
try adding systems running from the same database.

I will let you all know what I find. As a PC supplier, I have access to lots of
hardware to play with. :-)

Thankyou all for your advice.

Macky..
