Question of pricing in secondary database

After searching through the docs and archives to no avail, I have one
remaining problem with my first minivend site.

I created a secondary database (called Braces.asc) that I use to store, well
braces. I added it to the proper part of the catalog.cfg and it actually
works fairly well, except for getting the price.

I can transparently use items out of the braces database and all fields
(code, Description, etc..) work just as they do in the main products.asc
file. This is good and all of these fields can be used successfully in the
flypage environment which has no real knowledge about which database to look
in ahead of time. Thus, i'm confident that the database is working as a
legitimate products database.

However, it can not (or will not) ever pull the price out of the database.
It consistently returns $0.00 no matter what value is actually in the
database.

Is there something i'm missing?
