The left frame of the top frames pages does
not display correctly in either Netscape 4.6 for Linux nor Netscape 4.5 for
Windows, nor version 3.0 for Windows. There is a problem recognizing the
table structure; some sort of problem is causing Netscape to ignore all the
data such as the Login prompt from the table.
I'm pretty sure this didn't occur with the code for MiniVend 3.11. The
code had to be considerably changed for version 3.14; I copied much of the code
from the demo included with MiniVend. Evidently we are seeing the same
problem that the fellow in the minivend-users message was encountering.
I validated the code with HomeSite. There are quite a few nesting errors
(tags not being closed in the correct order). I am usually very
careful about nesting errors so I really doubt that I am responsible for them;
there may be problems with the minivend tag expansion. Clearly the
problem is the fault of MiniVend and not of Netscape. I recall the in the
demo from 3.11 I found lots of nesting errors there also and managed to correct
or work around them. Hope to do so again; however, the screwup is big
enough that it may take a couple of days to correct.

Subject: [mv] Demos work in
MS-IExplorer, but shop will not display for Netscape-users(???)
Hi All!
Has anyone
ever had complaints from Netscape users who cannot load the first page of the
shop? (i.e. index.html from the /pages directory)
Only the top
menubar and logobar will load.
Have I
misconfigured my server? MS-IE works fine, however!
But I wish to
sell to Netscape users as well.
Thanks for
any tips in advance.
Fred
