Ended up using the example below and it works. I could not use the 
advice Mike gave due to the fact the admin has not upgraded minivend 
to at least 3.12.


The example is perfect except I need to find a way to set the default 
locale to en_US and I've tried using examples from the docs and it 
doesn't work.

When a customer first comes to the store the image is black whereas 
it should be red cause en_US should be default, which it isn't.

[if scratch mv_locale eq en_US]
	<img src="money/red-usd.gif" border=0 alt="US" width=25 height=25>
[else]
	[page process/locale/en_US/page/index]<img 
src="money/black-usd.gif" border=0 alt="US" width=25 height=25>[/page]
[/else]
[/if]

Any suggestions?
