Re: Information needed about setting up Minivend on a virtual server.
I run minivend on several virtual servers and it really isn't even an
issue.
You just need to know where the httpd.conf is, where the cgi-bin for
your virtual server is and the documentroot. The rest of it is cake.
Just tell minivend all the info about the virtual server. Where the
cgi-bin is, DocRoot, address, etc. Its really quite simple.
I think the setup issues people tend to have are quite simple,
generally. I had a lot of CyberCash setup, but short-circuited minivend
to make it all work. I think a lot of the people here are not sys admins
(unix), programmers or the like. they are users. That is most certainly
not a bad thing. It just complicates matters sometimes.
Needless to say, my experience with minivend is that the documentation
is not the best. Most certainly not the worst. There is just a lot of
information to cover. But, I like the software and will continue to use
it because it is the best option anywhere. Commercial or otherwise.
Now, as for your problem, you need to ask a more specific question.
Either follow the docs and try stuff until it works, or ask a more
pointed problem question. I am not aware of anyone who has a better
HOW-TO available.
Good Luck,
Patrick Schoonveld.
