permissions to use for a multi-catalog system

I have been reading through all the docs & mailing list & everything to figure
out how to set up minivend for multiple catalogs. Here is what I understand:

Change the minivend.cfg so it points to the user acount:
Catalog catalog1 /home/user1/catalog1 /cgi-bin/catalog1

change all the items in the catalog.cfg to point to the correct paths.
change the permissions on the individual pages & dirs to:

dirs: 775 (u+rwx, g+rwx, a+rx)
pages: 664 (u+rw, g+rw, a+r)
home dir: 750 (u+rwx, g+rx, a-rwx)

Then as I understand it you need to be able to read & execute some of the
minivend items such as the minivend.cfg.
My question is which items do I need to have group access to in the minivend directory (minivend.cfg, etc.)??

Does this sound like the correct setup?? Each user will have their own domain
name. And we will set up a group for the minivend user (the install) and all the
catalogs that we use.
