Creating catalog pages...

Hi everybody.

It's been awhile since I posted to the list, but I've still not come up with a better way to do the 
following things.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Ok, first, I'm using a [loop search="se=whatever/sf=category"] [/loop] tag-pair in order to 
generate my inventory pages.  This *works*, except it is really slow!!  (Using MV3.12 and a TAB 
database).

Second, I'd like for minivend to read from my inventory.asc file to determine whether or not to 
print "Sorry! Sold out!" on the appropriate items.  Presently, I am using embedded PERL and it 
slows down page-load a lot.

Third, I would like minivend to modify that inventory file (and write back to the .asc file as 
well) when an item is purchased.  (i.e. When I get a confirmation from the Credit Card Auth.)

Also, would it be possible for anybody to explain what the _admin catalog is, and how I might go 
about using it?

And if anybody has any great tricks, etc. that they would like to share, I'm sure that everybody on 
the list would like to hear them!
