Re: Minivend + Sybase linux Connectivity

Yea, I had the same problem when I started. Minivend makes each of its
"databases" into
a table in an SQL database so do something like this. Also make sure you have
the sybase
dbi modules from CPAN. (http://www.perl.com/cpan/

Database products products.asc
dbi:sybase:database_name:localhost:3333
NoImport products
Database pricing pricing.asc
dbi:sybase:database_name:localhost:3333
NoImport products

Hope this helps.

****** message to minivend-users from Sanjog Kotnis
<sanjog@SpaceNETIndia.com> ******

Dear Paolo,

I am currently working with mysql database but now want
to shift to sybase for minivend 3.14.

I am unable to define the dsn dbi:Sybase:server=prod
(I am using server as prod.) and it is not working though
I read in one of the mails posted that this is the
     dsn defined.

I am going to use a database name 'MALL' and not minivend.

Can you specify what should be the dsn.

About productfiles it is defined that if I define multiple
tables in productfiles and then if I define a field
item-field subcategory where subcategory is a field in
table product2 then it should display the content of
field subcategory provided code is uniq accross both
tables, though this is not working in my case.

Currently its not working for me, what should be the
line if I want to define multiple tables in productfiles.
(what should be the delimeter used.)

     Please reply to me directly.

With warm regards,
 Sanjog.
