GDBM and file-based work best on a local disk. File-based probably are
best for a network mount -- if you are on Solaris or Linux. (Don't know
whether BSD flock is networkable.)
Interestingly enough, except for shipping.asc and salestax.asc, not really
required for all catalogs*, all MV things can be in SQL, including sessions.
SQL sessions are only with a BLOB, are very slow, and are not
recommended. Because it is so bad, I never documented it but it still
should be there. If anyone has a hankering to try it, look at the source
(start with Config.pm and Session.pm).
