SQL Differences from In-Memory..?

I've updated my test site today from the InMemory database to SQL with Sybase SQL Server 11.0. I noticed that [tag each products][sort products:category] no longer works. It was easily enough replaced with:

[loop search="ra=yes
              tf=category"]

-so no problem...

My question is whether there are any other things like this that I should be looking out for. Everything seems to work fine on the test site, but what should I be keeping my eyes on?

Also, someone mentioned a while ago that it's possible to see as much as a 100x speed improvement with a properly indexed database. Any more info on that would be Greatly appreciated.
