Why does minivend need to look at httpd.conf and $ENV.

I have installed minivend on my virtual domain after lots of trouble because
of the way it is set up to install.
It would work much better for people that are hosted on virtual servers if
install did not try to look at httpd.conf at all, and if the user were
prompted for the env rather than it trying to find it for its self.

Do not get me wrong I do really like minivend and I do appreciate your work,
it just seems that it is set up mainly for people that have their own
dedicated servers, and most people on the internernet are hosted on servers
as virtual domains.
