SQL-databse and numbers

Hello list,

I've got an SQL-database with fields that can be edited by users.
The problem is that some fields, defined as integer, cannot be set to zero
by the users. 

I am using the maintenance routine as described in the docs, and the config
files have been set according to the docs as well.

Does this make sense to any of you?
