Is it a compilation error?

Hello.

I installed minivend 1.34 and tried to run a demo page, but for some reason it is not 
working. I did everything by the manual and I have been working on for last 3 days but 
I couldn't figure it out. Demo page is showing up alright but when I click order, the error 
message shows up. I tried to run the cgi program on the command line(shell) but 
it doesn't show anything. Just there is no response. It seems the cgi program is a
binary, so I couldn't figure what is inside there. Also in error.log file, it says, 

Runtime error: REQUEST_METHOD is not defined at 
/home/kendostore/mvend/bin/minivend line 2138.

I tried to analyze minivend script, but it was too big for my ability. 
I checked line 2138 but there was nothing special. 

If somebody is curious about this, you can take a look at www.kendostore.com/simple. 
minivend seems like a great program, but it is really frustrating to install it. 

Please somebody help me. I wish I am familiar with unix systems. 
Oh, bye the way, the system is running Apache 1.3.4 on Linux 2.0.36
