RE: Please Help: userdb
****** message to minivend-users from "Thompson-Jordan" <Thompson-Jordan@mindspring.com> ******
UserDB is just like any other database. Mike Heins has added a layer over
the top to make login/logout, read/write, etc. easier, but it is still a
database. If you overwrite the userdb.asc file, Minivend will generate a
new userdb.gdbm. You can read from and write to it with [data]. And, if
you export using [tag] Minivend will write the contents of userdb.gdbm to
userdb.asc. If you login successfully the data in the fields of the user's
record become available with [value].
I have noticed that things can get messed up if you are logging in and out
while testing. I recommend going slowly, verifying that your login and
logout are working correctly first.
