Interpolation within a search-region tag?

I'm trying to do an in-page search using the search-region tag:

[search-region se="cheap"/sf="[scratch search_field]"/st=text/ac=yes/su=yes]

When I do this, I get the following error:

Runtime error: There is no column named '"[scratch search_field' at
/home/mvend/lib/Vend/Table/DummyDB.pm line 76

I've worked through quite a few tag interpolation problems, but none of my
previous fixes seem to work here.  Can anyone give me some advice on how to
get this working?
