*** [test_dynamic] Error 111 installation error

This is the second machine I've installed Minivend 3.12 to. The first
installed with no problems (i686 Redhat 5.1 box), but this second
install spits the dummy early into the ./configure script.

The problem box is an i686 Redhat 6.0 (kernel 2.2.9 and perl 5.005_03)
installation.

PERL_DL_NONLAZY=1 /usr/bin/perl -Iblib/arch -Iblib/lib
-I/usr/lib/perl5/5.00503/i686-linux -I/usr/lib/perl5/5.00503 test.pl

ok= def: 1 connect: Connection refused
socket link..make: *** [test_dynamic] Error 111

That's the error I get. I've searched the FAQ, manual and mailing list
archive and the mailing list archive had some threads about a similar
error (different error number, eg Error 1 or Error 29). One solution
given was to make a new perl, which I have done but with no effect.

Any solutions? If I was on the right track to remake perl, do I have to
make it with any special options/flags/etc?
