SSL and catalog on two machines help please
****** message to minivend-users from "Edward Mack" <emack@mackcom.com> ******
I am trying to set up a catalog on two machines (because of issues with our
ISP) and I am having problems getting the secure (stronghold) server to see
the cart. This is what I have tried so far...
I have the non-secure (apache) server working with minivend (3.12). The
domain for this server is bodycandy.net. When I go to the check out page on
the secure server (domain secure.bodycandy.net) I get the white screen
(minivend is busy screen). Ok, this makes sense since minivend is not
installed on the secure box. So, then I install minivend on the secure box.
Now of course when I call the checkout form, I end up with a checkout form
with no item in the cart.
I have IpHead yes, enabled cookies and DomainTail yes (I tried yes and no),
and WideOpen Yes. I understand that my problem is that there is no symlink
from the directory on the secure server to the non-secure server, so of
course the secure sever can't see what's in the cart.
My question is what can I do?
Are there certain setting I should ask my ISP to set on the secure box so
that can see what on the non-secure box? If so what?
Are there security issues here?
Is it possible to get one catalog running on two machines?
Thank you for any help that you can provide.
