Checkstat.sh -> /proc not mounted ??
****** message to minivend-users from "Lyn St George" <lyn@zolotek.com> ******
Hallo all
I've started using checkstat.sh, which does the job of restarting
Minivend if it's not running, but I get this message from Cron every
time it runs:
Error: /proc must be mounted
To mount /proc at boot you need an /etc/fstab line like:
/proc /proc proc defaults
In the meantime, mount /proc /proc -t proc
Error: /proc must be mounted

Doing cd /proc returns "permission denied", so /proc must
exist. My webhoster is using RH4.2 and cgiwrap - does the
cgiwrap make any difference in this situation?
This script used to run without error on my local system
- RH 5.2 - (though after installing Gnome it fails to grep - this
failure is not important) and I've not found any other
messages on the list about this. I have a suspicion that my
webhoster, Cihost.com, don't really know what they
are doing and have screwed something up - would
this be likely, or does anyone know of a different
explanation? I don't know much about Linux either (I'm
basically an OS/2 user), but I see that my /mnt does
not contain proc (and /proc is empty) and it still worked
without these errors.
Any solutions *much* appreciated - I'm getting 48
messages a day about this!
