No API is needed. All you have to do is to specify the SQL server,
hostname of the server, database to use and username, password. The table
design has to conform to whichever ASCII file you specify in catalog.cfg.
Here's an example:
Database products products.asc dbi:mysql:minivend:localhost:3306
Database products USER username
Database products PASS XXXX
You'd also have to have the DBI CPAN modules for Perl, and the DBD driver
for your DBMS (for mysql it's called Msql-Mysql-modules-1.xxxx.tar.gz)
