Sounds like you keep exporting a userdb.gdbm with the wrong information.
Sounds like you need to import a good userdb.asc once. Turn off all of the
export tags, remove the userdb.gdbm file, and copy a correct userdb.asc
file into products. That should get you the correct userdb.gdbm file. Then
turn exporting back on.

I have found userdb difficult to debug. It's not like Unix where you can
log in and out at will. I think because of the session information,
sometimes it doesn't do what you want it to. I am not always able to
predict how it will behave and find that I need to disconnect/reconnect to
get a new session and then login again.

Perhaps someone who understands how userdb and session inter-relate can
clarify the (probably obvious) rules about how it works.
