How to make label text of selected size appear on receipt...?

Hi all,

I've run into an issue handling product size information that I haven't
been able to resolve; any help would be much appreciated.

My client's site has sportswear products; among the products are ball caps
in nine different sizes. The database entries for sizes are like this:

1=6 5/8,2=6 3/4,3=6 7/8,4=7,5=7 1/8,6=7 1/4,7=7 3/8,8=7 1/2,9=7 5/8

The numbers 1 through 9 are the last digits of the product codes for each
cap; 6 5/8, 6 3/4, etc, are the sizes. Almost all works well with this
arrangement - size selection drop-down lists look fine and remember
settings, client gets single digit code number as the size on order report
(his preference)...

The problem is on the receipt - the receipt shows the single digit code for
the size, and not the descriptive label of the actual size. As an example,
someone ordering a size 6 7/8 cap will see SIZE-->3 on their receipt - not
good! How can I get the size label to appear instead?

I have tried many permutations of [item-modifier], [item-accessories],
[accessories], and [modifier-name] tags so far, trying to get the selected
size label to appear on the receipt as the "size". Admittedly my
understanding of these tags is quite limited, and after a full day of
working on this yesterday, I got nowhere... and don't even know if I'm on
the right track... so I am asking for help!
