Not calculating shipping

The following is a copy of one of the UPS shipping lines from
"shipping.asc":
upsg UPS Ground price 0 150 u Ground [default zip 98366]
When I change "u Ground [default zip 98366]" to "f 6" it will no longer
calculates shipping and I get the following error message and shipping goes
to zero:
"Note: Shipping mode 'upsg': bad formula. Returning 0. No match found for
mode 'upsg', quantity '56', returning 0. Shipping mode 'upsg': bad formula.
Returning 0. No match found for mode 'upsg', quantity '56', returning 0.
Shipping mode 'upsg': bad formula. Returning 0.No match found for mode
'upsg', quantity '56', returning 0."
If I change the "u Ground [default zip 98366]" to 6, it gives me the $6
shipping with no problem. However, the shipping cost must go to a straight
6% after $100 so I can't do that.
The problem seems to be that Minivend recognizes the "u" but not "f". Can
this be due to a missing Pearl file? It works fine at http:63.64.191.135/qc
which uses Pearl 5.005. The shopping basket at
http://columbia.digiweb.com:7786/bw, which is the one giving me the problem,
uses Pearl 5.004.
Someone else said he had the same problem and spent three days trying to fix
it and gave up.
