multiple departments , referral sicks like glue

Well still trying to set up multiple departments .
Referral info [data session source] sticks like glue. Very good.
When accessing basket.html , either one , the foreign depts. items the
description and price are dropped.
But the product code travels.as does the quanity.
So product code is in basket. no description or price.
Any ideas?
Am I going about this right?
