question about accessing values in a list

Here's the code i'm trying to run:
<form name="form1" action="[process-search]" method=POST>
<select MV="loop"
        MV.PREPEND="[sort searchlist:name]"
        MV.SEARCH="sf=description/fi=searchlist.asc/ra=yes"
        name="mv_searchspec">
	  <option value="[loop-code]"> [loop-data searchlist name]
</select>
</form>

But it's not returning a searchspec.  In fact it doesn't seem like it
returning any value at all.  Does anyone know how i would pass the selected
value to the search?

MV 3.12, solaris 5.7 and perl 5.005
