Iserver setup
****** message to minivend-users from Lars Pettersson <lwp@netprofitinternational.com> ******
Hi,
I'm trying to install minivend (3.11 and 3.12) on an bsdos Iserver
system, with perl5.004-4. The mv script installs everything fine, but
when i try to start the server (mvend/bin/start) everything starts
panicing:
10983 p0 S+ 0:00.23 /usr/home/wolrath/usr/local/bin/perl -w
bin/start (start)
10986 p0 S+ 0:00.20 /usr/home/wolrath/usr/local/bin/perl -w
/usr/home/wolrath/mvend/bin/start -
10987 p0 S+ 0:00.22 /usr/home/wolrath/usr/local/bin/perl -w
/usr/home/wolrath/mvend/bin/start -
10988 p0 S+ 0:00.20 /usr/home/wolrath/usr/local/bin/perl -w
/usr/home/wolrath/mvend/bin/start -
...
and about 50 more of these...
I've browsed the minivend-list archive and found some suggestions in the
texts:
http://www.minivend.com:80/minivend/minivend-list/1998-old/0376.html
http://www.minivend.com:80/minivend/minivend-list/1998-old/0041.html
<0041.html> seems to be an exact description of my problem. It suggests
some "tweaking" with chroot. I guess that is the part I doesn't really
get :)
I've also read the FAQ which says "Iserver.com and other systems which
use chroot HTTP servers require quite a bit of extra configuration to
get going."
Any suggestions?
thanks,
lars
