There are never any predefined variables that don't begin with MV_.
(Well, maybe @@LANG@@).
So if it isn't in the catalog.cfg file, it doesn't exist. It probably
is the remnant of a previous attempt to make a packaged static
build for simple; I don't think I ever pursued it. But it should
build just fine if you set it properly.
The MiniVend site is totally done in this fashion now; all of the
pages are in a minivend catalog and the static ones for the
front page and commonly-used pages are built with static build.
