i think MV will not be your problem when having a lot of product. running a
shop with 504000 titles (including 280000 pictures; each small and big
available) in 100 fileds on a p350 with 512mb on freebsd. had to add a
glimpse search to get fast responses when serching thru the text. this was
the only "problem" with mysql. but after adding glimpse, splitting the
search files to 504 files, each 1000 lines (total 650 MB) everything worked
really fine. this machine also carries 6 other shops witch are much smaller
and mail and .....
