javascript and order(form)

Hello,

could anyone help me with the following:

I want to make an order button which should add an item to the shopping cart.
No problem: 
[order code="[item-code]" base=product]<IMG BORDER=0
SRC="order_image.gif">[/order]

Now, I want to add some Javascript, for instance a roll-over to the button.

My first solution would be a form, which would be submitted with Javascript.
If I do so, the result will always be that the table 'products' can't be
found (note that I am using 'product').

Also using <a href="[area order [item-code]]"> doesn't give the result I am
looking for.

Is there a way to cram some Javascript into an order-tag? Or how should I
address the 'product' table in an order-form?

I am using Minivend 3.11.
