Shopping cart lost for non-cookie users

Hi,

Since I switched web providers, users that don't accept cookies have 
been having problems where they lose the contents of there shopping cart 
when going from the insecure pages of the site to the secure checkout 
page. My provider is using version 3.10. They have the HostnameLookups 
directive in apache set up so insecure pages don't have their numerical 
IPs resolved, but the secure pages are resolved to their text form (e.g. 
199.6.57.1 is seen by minivend as the IP for insecure pages and 
minivend.com is seen as the IP for secure pages). I know this problem 
(or at least a similar one is in the FAQ at:

so I've had my provider change DomainTail to No and IPHead to Yes as 
advised. I've also had them insert the line IpQuad 0 as I found a brief 
reference to that in the release notes. It still doesn't work though. I 
could probably try WideOpen Yes but my provider still doesn't have 
version 3.11 installed. Does anyone know how I can get 3.10 to work? I 
could bug my provider to install 3.11 if necessary, but I'd rather not 
if we don't need to. Thanks.
