MV is ignoring [] on order report

I'm running MV 3.12 Beta 5 on WinNT 4.0 Server...
After Checkout the order is shown correctly on the screen, but
in tracking.asc all [] tags are ignored!!
The $fieldname are shown correctly...
Why does this happen ?? I copied the report files from the
simple demo, but it didn't help...
Who can help ?
