Returning to an item's display page after ordering

In a current set-up, when the customer orders an item off that item's 
display page (created on the fly with "flypage.html"), the shopping 
cart display page ("basket.html") is displayed.  How can I provide a 
link on basket.html that will let the user go back to the page 
displaying the item ordered?

I know I can create a link that will go back to the referring URL, but 
"flypage.html" has been written to also display the customer's 
shopping cart, so simply going back would probably result in the wrong 
shopping cart contents being displayed.  Also, I don't want this link 
to appear if basket.html was displayed for any reason other than an 
item being ordered.
