DBi connect failed with Oracle

Hi all,
I'm trying to connect MiniVend 3.09 with an Oracle DB via DBI/DBD
and always get this message when trying to restart the server:
Configuring catalog test...test config error: DBI connect failed: ORA-06401:
NETCMN: invalid driver designator (DBD ERROR: OCIServerAttach) at
/home/pcuser/mvend/lib/Vend/Data.pm line 419
Some Information:
-OS: Debian Linux
-DBI and DBD is installed
-DB minivend and table products have been created
-via sqlplus there are no problems connecting to Oracle
-first I had the following entry in catalog.cfg:
Database products products.asc dbi:oracle:minivend:ORACLESERVER
--> then the available drivers were listed and 'Oracle' was there to.
So I changed it to:
Database products products.asc dbi:Oracle:minivend:ORACLESERVER
Database USER MY_USER_AT_ORACLE
Database PASS MY_PASS
but then the message above occurs.
What am I (new_newbie besides) doing wrong?
