SSL Strageness Solved
****** message to minivend-users from "Thompson-Jordan" <Thompson-Jordan@mindspring.com> ******
I have been struggling to get SSL to work Minivend. I finally got it to
work. The problem was that the path to the secure site for my hosting
company (cihost.com) is:
machine.secureserver.com/cgi-mysite/simple
^^^^^^
This caused Minivend to somehow generate the path:
/cgi-mysite/mysite/simple
^^^^^^^
I still don't know why it's adding that second "mysite" in there. The
solution was to add another alias to the Catalog directive in minivend.cfg
to the weird, non-existant path:
Catalog simple /home/mysite/catalogs/simple /cgi-bin/simple
/cgi-mysite/simple /cgi-mysite/mysite/simple
I tried making a symlink to my /cgi-bin directory called /cgi-mysite and
made all references to be for /cgi-mysite/simple, but then I got an extra,
even weirder path of /cgi-mysite/mysite/mysite/simple.
I guess Minivend figures the paths will be something like to following:
www.mysite.com/cgi-bin/simple
www.secureserver.com/mysite/cgi-bin/simple
So I guess the moral to the story is: when specifying a secure server, if
Minivend gives errors that weird paths that don't exist, try adding the
weird paths as aliases.
