Re: Suggestion:
****** message to minivend-users from "Brian T. Allen" <brian@purenetfx.com> ******
I just have to come out and say that anyone who wants to focus on the
weaknesses of MV, and not on its strengths and sheer existence is missing
the point. The fact that MV exists at all we owe to Mike. The fact that it
is great, we owe to Mike. Mike has invested thousands of hours into
creating this, and I am deeply grateful. I run my entire business around
MV, and it has never failed me. Is it hard to learn, yes. Is it
inconsistent at times, yes. Is it better than most the commercial products
out there, in my opinion, yes.
There is nowhere esle you can get a product for free (other than Linux
itself) that is so flexible, so powerful, and has such a broad and for the
most part understanding support group. I started this business with zero
Linux knowledge, and zero database knowledge, and now do more e-commerce
than any other ISP in my city of 50,000, and there are ten of them, all with
huge staffs and deep pockets. I owe all of that to MV. I tried Microshaft
products for what I wanted to accomplish. Not only did I waste 2 months
trying to get it to work and work reliably, but I would have had $10,000 in
licensed software when all was said and done.
My vote goes to MV, and if I ever get rich using it Mike can expect a nice
new car.
Thanks to all involved and everyone who contributes to this mailing list.
