Minivend tags do not expand in <TITLE> or high in page

Subject says most. I would like my code to appear in a browse page title,
but:
<TITLE> MediaMob # [item-code] <TITLE>
does not expand as desired. Using the browse.html that comes with the
sample, I find that the [item-code] does not expand unless it is "lower"
in the page than the table which displays the title and description of the
item. I read up on the MV tags which preceed that point, but none of them
are described as being the "ubertag" which starts the expand boundary.
Ideas?
