RE: Still Lost on mv_admin
****** message to minivend-users from joe@cyberdyne.net (Joe Arcuri) ******
Looks like your mvend homedir is owned by root... permissions on that
directory and all subdirs should be set to the user that Minivend is running
as example: if MiniVend runs as the user "mvend" then do this:
Unix prompt#> chown -R mvend:other /usr/local/minivend --- then try it
again.. all probs should go away :)
Hope that helps
Joe

Indeed, somehow I managed to have 3 minivend processes going. I shut them
all down and then used /usr/local/minivend/bin/start
to start minivend again. Now there is only 1 process ruinning, however
in the error.log file I get this when I start up minivend....if this is a
permissions problem could someone point me in the right direction?
- - - [21/February/1999:22:50:17 -0500] - - _mv_admin config error:
Couldn't open '/usr/local/minivend/admin/products/database.asc'
read/write: Permission denied
- - - [21/February/1999:22:50:17 -0500] - - _mv_admin: config error.
Skipping.
so I look at /usr/local/minivend/admin/products/ and see this:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 161 Feb 21 21:47 database.asc
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 107 Feb 21 21:47 directive.asc
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 59 Feb 21 21:47 locale.asc
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 534 Feb 21 21:47 products.asc
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3433 Feb 21 21:47 wizard.asc
should these be chown'ed to minivend:minivend? and if so, I might ask
should the configure script not have done this?
Regards,
Greg
