Number of products

Hello MiniVendors !
I'm new to MiniVend and this mailinglist. I've choosed MiniVend for my
current project (an exchange for excess electronic components in Europe).
My experiences with MiniVend are/will be available on the Web at
http://www.linuxia.de/minivend.html and I will held an presentation about
MiniVend at the German Linux Days in June (http://www.linuxtag.org).
Any input/comment for those two projects is more than welcome.

Now my question. Is there an more efficient way for displaying the number of
products available when running MiniVend in companion with PostgreSQL ?
