You can use Excel97 easily for database files. As opposed to allother Excels it exports
data correctly if you choose .CVS as the export file type.

Otherwise, here is what you do:

For Access: Open a blank database and import your best products.asc file. Then 
go in and setup your field names. You may also need to import the first record
of your products.asc file and be sure you keep it. I have not found a way
to create the RECORD HEADERS from Access yet when doing the export to Minivend.
The BIG problem seems to be with 'commas' getting in the file where you don't 
want them. I do not quite know why this is.

My choice of Database Software is FileMaker PRO 4.x. $99 for one 
of the most powerful NT Databases I have ever used. It will read ANY
database and will not put those stupid commas in there. In FileMaker
you just "FILE/OPEN" and it can detect the database. More importantly,
it has the ability to publish the database to the Internet securely
so you can also us it in other ways. Most importantly, it exports
the products.asc file cleaner than any other database I have used.
