Re: Problems with gcc (Tlink & Vlink)
****** message to minivend-users from Ben Donohue <donohueb@bvm.com.au> ******
sorry about the vague reply aubrey.
having come from a dos/windows/netware background i've always found that formatting and
reinstalling the windows operating system software from scratch with default setups and
configuration a good idea if i'm having trouble with something. NT or 95. then i only load one
program and see the effects. then another program etc. systems are pretty quick to build these
days so why not if you can.
i had trouble with minivend on a rh5.1 linux system with caldera netware installed so i tried the
whole thing on the same machine without caldera netware and it worked okay. i'm fairly new to
linux so this helps me learn too. so when i say reloaded, i mean repartitioned and reformatted and
reload entire operating system software. with a fast CDROM and a fast PC this does not take that
long and you can start from a known good install knowing that it's not some other program with
your configuration changes for that program that is stuffing up something else like minivend.
works for me.
Ben Donohue.
