2 pricelists?

Hiho...
My very first (local) minivend shop is running (it seems to be a little
slow sometimes, but I think this is a problem of my programming. I did
it from scratch, not using the simple demo as a starting point (okay -
the demo-code was right in front of me ;-) - perhaps there is a howto
with perfomance hints anywhere?).
Actually I have the following problem:
I want to use two different pricelists - one for the normal customers
and one for resellers.
I think I will use a customers database (like in the demo) to store user
information. One field of this DB should differ between normal and
"special" customers. I want to be the only person who is able to change
the status of this field.
My problem is: How do I tell mv which price to use? Which would be the
best way to do this?
Perhaps anyone did something like this and is able to give me (and all
the others out there) a little hint.
