catalog.cfg and merchant_conf

Hello!

 So I've got Minivend 3.12 working with Cybercash 3.2, which is great.
I'm now  interested in refining my setup a bit. In particular, I'm
interested in cleaning up the merchant_conf file that cybercash gave me.
I'd like to make a template for a merchant_conf file that only contains
the info relevelent to cybercash. For example, the HASH_SECRET given
here is the same as the one given in catalog.cfg (seems like having it
one place would be sufficient, especially since it's sensitive data).  
 I would be interested in removing any entries from this file that are
nullified or duplicated by Minivend. Does anyone know what parts of
merchant_conf are essential to Minivend, or (even better) have a sample
file like this?

 What I would really love to discover is that the remaining essential
items in merchant_conf could be directly combined without catalog.cfg
without error, reducing complexity a bit. Has anyone experimented with
this, or have an example?
