minivend security model
****** message to minivend-users from Mark Stosberg <mark@summersault.com> ******
Hello!
I've got a question about MiniVend's security model. I can see it does
a lot of things to keep security tight, but I'm wondering what people
have done to keep access to their minivend server secure. Our idea at
Summersault was to have a secure server that only about 4 priveledged
users would have access to. The idea being that The only time the web
pages need to be secure is when credit card data being transmitted, and
therefore 99% of the website could be on a less secure server, where
clients could get at their stuff directly without worry. As I understand
Minivend, this isn't possible without duplicating some of each shopping
cart on both servers (could be painful and confusing).
Anyone interested in letting loose with a security model they are happy with?
